Media Freedom Internet Cookbook

Last August the so-called second Amsterdam Internet Conference took place. Organized by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), more precisely its Representative on Freedom of the Media, the conference has resulted in several recommendations. These are printed in the Media Freedom Internet Cookbook together with background papers on several subjects: Legislation & Jurisdiction; Self-regulation, Co-regulation, State Regulation; Hate Speech on the Internet; Education & Developing Internet Literacy; Access to Networks and to Information; Future Challenges of the Information Society.

The book that resulted from the first Amsterdam Conference contained a few interesting articles, though was generally a light read. This book and the recommendations look more mature. There are certainly some essays in it that are worthwhile. For in-between hours and better.
