The 1000 Hands Dance

After the Yoga teacher with "balls like atom bombs" copyrighting yoga sequences, now a Chinese dance group is complaining about copyright infringement on their Buddhist dance by other local dance groups. Some Buddhist scholars doubt both the authenticity and legality of these claims. No word if the dance is a traditional, or a orginal work and what China's standing is on copyrighting dances. In the US dances (choreographic works) can be copyrighted, though there's little case law on infringement (see link hereafter).

Background: Copyright of Choregraphic Works, on old essay by Julie Van Camp, gives a nice background to copyright protection under US Federal Law.
